2013 cruising in Burgundy

This is a sample for a 4 day cruise, travelling the Canal Rhone au Rhin and part of the river Soane:

Day 1
Guests are met at the TGV station at Dole and escorted to Jubilant, moored close by. 
Sit back and enjoy the Champagne reception while cruising the canal du Rhone au Rhin.
Dinner aboard 

Day 2
After breakfast, explore the medieval town of Dole where the work of Louis Pasteur, native to Dole, is commemorated in the local museum.
The town has some beautiful architecture, ancient churches and nice boutiques including chocolatiers and patisseries.
If you wish, it is possible to visit the Jura wine growing region.
Lunch out.
Meanwhile Jubilant will cruise from Dole to St Jean de Losne on the river Saone. 
This small town has the largest inland pleasure port in France and is home to numerous 'bargees'.
Visit the museum in the high street to learn more about their life and the history of barging.
Captain's cocktails followed by dinner aboard.

Day 3
Enjoy breakfast while cruising down the river Saone to Verdun sur le Doubs. A port was established here as early as the first century AD.
Bakers among you can visit the Museum of Wheat and Bread or simple enjoy a glass of wine on the square. You may even be invited to join in a game of 'petanque' with the locals!
After lunch aboard, join us on a visit to Beaune, the stunning medieval town in the wine producing area of Cote d'Or. Captains cocktails followed by dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 4
Jubilant continues her jouney on the river Saone to Chalons-sur -Saone, an important town since Roman times. 
The old town boasts numerous half-timbered buildings, and a museum dedicated to Niepces, founder of photography.
Enjoy an outing to Rully and Chagny to see the vineyards and indulge your palate! 
Alternatively, we could head to Puligny Montrachet for tasting lessons: a Sumptious lunch with 12 wines!
Captains cocktails.
Light supper optional, or dine out in Chalon sur Saone.

Day 5
After breakfast, we will escort you to Le Creusot TGV train station. Sad goodbyes, but Au Revoir!
